February 10

Here we are in the dead of winter in Chicago with cabin fever fully set in now. Come beat the cold with us and a couple of your favorite brews. Our next meet up will be Monday February 10 at Galway Bay (500 w Diversey) at 6:30pm. Get there when you can and to leave when you have to.
This month will be an open tie so bring a vise and some materials and tie whatever you want. Or feel free to just hang out and talk fly fishing with us.
We hope to see you there!

January Wrap Up

We had a great time again this month at Chi Tie.  Flies were tied, laughs were had and a few drinks downed.
A highlight of the evening was a demo by Tim Adkins of Critical Angling.  Tim showed us how to tie a slider variation he calls the "Scooby Snack."  Everyone had the opportunity to tie a couple thanks to the donation of materials from Orvis Chicago.  All in all it was a great way to beat the cold and get our fly fishing fix in in the dead of winter.
We're already looking forward to next months meet up on February 10.  Hope to see you there.
Until then here's some pics from this month to hold you over.

Thanks Orvis Chicago for donating materials

January 13

January 13 is our next meet up.  Come out and beat the cold and snow and get some flies tied at the same time.  We'll be at the same place same time.  Galway Bay at 6:30pm.
This month will feature a demo of the Scooby Snack by Tim Adkins of Critical Angling.  The Scooby Snack is one of his variations on a slider- a versatile fly that's both a great redfish and salt water fly or freshwater bass fly.  Orvis Chicago will again be providing materials for anyone who wants to try it out.
We hope to see you Monday the 13th.  We guarantee a good time with lots of fishy conversation and laughs.  And of course a few drinks.  Stay warm and see you there!
